Biography
Alan commenced his professional career with KPMG, Petaling Jaya in 2007, specialising in the audit of financial services clients and public listed companies. During this period, he gained extensive experience in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, group audits, corporate governance and the implementation of FRS 139 relating to financial instruments.
Alan subsequently continued his career with KPMG Sydney, managing audit engagements for financial services clients, including one of Australia's largest foreign banks, as well as entities listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). In addition to assurance services, he was involved in business process optimisation and improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, internal controls and reporting processes.
Alan returned to Malaysia to join the Firm as a Principal in the Audit Department and Director of the Tax Department. He was subsequently admitted as a Partner and appointed Managing Partner. Under his leadership, the Firm has continued to expand its professional services while maintaining its commitment to quality, integrity and client service.
Alan played an active role in assisting businesses with the implementation of GST, MPERS and the Companies Act 2016, and conducted numerous training programmes nationwide. He continues to advise clients on regulatory, reporting and compliance matters and has successfully led numerous tax investigation and dispute resolution engagements, particularly in the area of transfer pricing.
Recognising the growing impact of artificial intelligence and automation, Alan has developed a strong interest in digital transformation and business process optimisation. He has led and participated in various projects involving process automation, AI-enabled solutions and technology-driven business improvements.
Outside his professional commitments, Alan is actively involved in community service through the Malaysian Red Crescent Society and currently serves as an office bearer at both the National Headquarters and Penang Chapter, with a focus on finance and fund-raising initiatives.
